The Bangkok Film Festival Begins This Week!

This year’s Bangkok Film Festival will run from January 20-22, 2023, at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center on Rama I Road in the Pathumwan area. The event is an initiative of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s (BMA) “Colorful Bangkok” program, which promotes the city as a cultural hub.

The open-air cinema in front of the center will be showing the award-winning films “Legend of Suriyothai,” “Bad Genius,” and “Blue Again” every day throughout the festival.

The festival will feature a short documentary film competition with the topic “Connecting Bangkok 2030,” as well as a conference titled “Bangkok: The Creative City,” a workshop on film directing, editing, and screenwriting given by specialists, and a number of screenings. All all, there are 200,000 baht worth of prizes up for grabs.

In addition to screenings, there will be a shopping extravaganza with unique goods from each of Bangkok’s fifty districts, and live music performances by six youth bands. Each day of the event starts at 10 am and ends at 10 pm.
