Moo Deng the Hippo Wins Online Presidential Poll

In a lighthearted online poll hosted by a popular U.S. talk show, voters were asked to choose their preferred candidate for the upcoming U.S. presidential election in November. The poll featured former president Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris, and a surprising contender—Moo Deng, a pygmy hippo calf from Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi, Thailand.

According to the show’s X account, Moo Deng won a staggering 93% of the votes, leaving Harris and Trump far behind with 4% and 3%, respectively. While the poll was held purely for entertainment, the outcome sparked plenty of online humor. One commenter quipped, “Looks like Moo Deng is the only candidate with a solid plan: just sit in the water and let everyone else do the splashing!”

The playful poll drew widespread amusement, with many users rallying behind the idea, posting comments like “Moo Deng for President” across social media.

Officials and other attendees of the talk show have yet to comment on the overwhelming support for the unexpected candidate.
