On October 28, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt inaugurated the city’s first solar-powered, air-conditioned bus stop in front of Seacon Bangkae shopping mall. Dubbed the Seacon Air Condition Solar Bus Station, the innovative bus stop on Bangkok’s Thonburi side represents a prototype aimed at promoting energy conservation and environmental sustainability in public transport infrastructure.
Governor Chadchart highlighted that the new station is designed to serve as a model for energy-efficient, eco-friendly urban amenities. The bus stop is equipped with air conditioning powered by solar panels, ensuring comfort for commuters while significantly reducing energy consumption. Additionally, it offers modern conveniences tailored to urban living, including digital displays for bus schedules, mobile charging stations, and seating that enhances commuter comfort.
The station is part of Bangkok’s broader initiative to improve public transportation infrastructure with sustainable, energy-conscious solutions.
