Udon Thani, Thailand β July 21, 2025 β A two-time gold medalist from Thailand’s national team in the ASEAN Para Games, 30-year-old Wanphra βOatβ from Udon Thani Province, has spoken out publicly about the emotional impact of his recent divorce. The visually impaired athlete, who has represented Thailand internationally, was left heartbroken after being asked to leave his wifeβs home and has since struggled with suicidal thoughts.
The case has drawn attention due to the public nature of the allegations and the athleteβs profile. Mr. Wanphra, blind since the age of nine after a lightning strike incident, previously brought national pride by winning gold medals at the ASEAN Para Games in Myanmar (2014) and Malaysia (2017). He later left professional sports and worked in an AI training company for the blind, where he met his wife, 21-year-old Kawinthida βFa Sai.β The couple had been together for over six years and share a one-year-old son.
According to Wanphra, the relationship began to deteriorate earlier this year after he discovered his wife was allegedly speaking with another man. After a heated argument, she requested a divorce. Following their official separation on July 14, he claims she expelled him from her familyβs residence in Nong Bua Rawe District, Chaiyaphum Province. Wanphra, now residing in Udon Thani with a disabled friend, recounted two suicide attempts and expressed a desire to be reunited with his son and return to his previous family life.
Reporters later contacted Fa Sai, who shared a different perspective. She alleged that Wanphra had been unfaithful, even going so far as to bring another woman to their shared home and purchasing condoms for use with the woman. She claimed to have recorded evidence and asserted that he had incurred debts from lottery ticket sales and gaming expenses. Fa Sai stated clearly that while she does not prevent Wanphra from visiting their child, she has no intention of rekindling their relationship.
In response to the accusations, Wanphra admitted to having an affair with a former bandmate and acknowledged the existence of a recorded video. However, he denied using funds for games and insisted most of his financial struggles stemmed from basic living costs. He added that he hoped to emotionally recover and continue supporting his child.
The situation has sparked public interest and debate, particularly given Wanphraβs high-profile background and the emotional toll the separation appears to have taken. Officials or legal representatives have not issued public statements as of the time of writing.
