BMA plans to increase the remuneration of sweeping staff and stipulates 4 measures to cope with the situation covid

Mr. Chakphan Phew-ngam, Deputy Governor of Bangkok revealed after the Bangkok Executive Committee meeting that the update on various issues such as the status of increasing the remuneration of sweeping staff and the guidelines to prepare for the coronavirus disease situation after the relaxation of measures were discussed. 

BMA set up a drafting committee Bangkok Metropolitan Administration: Remuneration of Waste or Solid Waste Collection and Transportation Personnel and Monthly Special Money for Sweeping Personnel B.E. …. to repeal the original ordinance, namely the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration on the Remuneration of Wastewater or Solid Waste Collection Officers and Private Sectors Accepting the Payment of Fees for Wastewater or Solid Waste Collection instead of Bangkok. It was established in 2003 and only remunerates personnel who perform wastewater or solid waste collection related duties. The essence of the ordinance (draft) of Bangkok. Remuneration B.E. is to provide compensation to staff who perform work related to the collection of wastewater or solid waste and sweeping staff. There will be an adjustment in the proportion of compensation for staff who perform work related to the collection of sewage or solid waste in accordance with the new rate of collection and transportation of sewage or solid waste according to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Act on service charges in the management of sewage or solid waste according to the Public Health Act B.E. which is currently under review of the appropriate proportion and then propose a draft for review in the following order.

Currently, the BMA has a total of 28,122 full-time and temporary employees, including 17,901 permanent employees, divided into 7,489 waste collection, 6,029 sweeping, 3,492 parks, and 891 wastewater and 10,221 temporary employees divided into collection work. 3,710 waste processing, 3,811 sweeping, 2,096 parks and 604 garbage.

Regarding the situation of corona virus infection in the Bangkok area, currently there is an average of 1,500 infected per day, with an average of 3 deaths per day, although the number of cases is likely to increase. But the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has established 4 surveillance, control and supervision measures as follows: 

Measure 1: Surveillance and control measures The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has been monitoring the disease situation. Admission, mortality, bed occupancy and cluster outbreak monitoring in high-risk places such as construction camps, markets, institutions/factories, educational institutions, entertainment places, pubs, bars and karaoke bars, in order to identify risk factors and adjust control measures

Measure 2 Disease prevention measures consisting of 1. Personal protective measures: Emphasis on regular hand washing. Spacing and mask wearing, especially in the high risk group and 608. 2. Site specific measures by allowing various locations including government agencies, public enterprises and private sectors to comply with Covid Free Setting and 3. Vaccination The BMA advertised for people to receive at least 3 full vaccination shots and expedited the vaccination process. Prevent Covid-19 boosting needle (4 needles) as follows:

1) Proactive vaccination is carried out by the CCRT team, providing vaccination services in the nursing home group for the elderly and caregivers, and issuing proactive vaccination units in areas that have experienced outbreaks, such as Bang Khae market, Pig Hoof market, etc.

2) Open vaccination services for all age groups every Friday through the QueQ app appointment channel, including daily walk-in opening for people who come to receive services in outpatient vaccination clinics, especially in the 608 group.

3) Request cooperation from NESDB to survey community residents If it turns out that there are still people who have not been vaccinated with a booster dose. Request the local health center to provide home-based vaccination services.

4) Coordinate schools in the area to vaccinate students with needles, and invite parents to get vaccinated with booster doses.

5) Open a channel to book vaccines for bedridden patients, elderly, disabled via the link https://shorturl.asia/kdAJc or PR QR code that has been published by various channels in Bangkok.

Measure 3 Medical treatment measures Bed situation in Bangkok and surrounding areas The hospital has 5,277 beds and 2,990 beds were used, which is a bed occupancy rate of 56.66%, or a bed occupancy rate of level 2 or higher 35.69%.
