Priority should be given to expanding access to vaccinations for those at high risk of developing severe COVID symptoms, as pointed out by Dr. Tares. About 1.9 million Thai seniors have never been vaccinated, making them particularly vulnerable.
The bulk of COVID fatalities, according to the director-general, may be attributable to the elderly, half of whom were unvaccinated. He urged everyone to ensure the health and wellbeing of the elderly by ensuring they receive necessary vaccinations. Vaccination clinics and public health facilities around the country might serve this purpose. Volunteer organizations or the local public health agency might be contacted to arrange for in-home immunization administration for bedridden individuals. The vaccinations will be provided at no cost.
