The spa industry and those interested in holistic health all around the world know about Thai massage. Members of the press covering the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Thailand, which will take place in 2022, will be treated to a complimentary Thai massage and spa service. The objective is to aid in showcasing the proficiency of Thai laborers to the international society.

The Ministry of Labor’s Department of Skill Development will showcase Thai massage during the APEC leaders’ conference since it is one of Thailand’s soft power assets. Among the many types of massages available to members of the press are those that focus on the neck and shoulders, use line tapping, and use hot stones.

Nonthaburi and Nakhon Nayok’s labor skill development agencies hand-picked the massage therapists who would do the demonstrations. Several are graduates of the Wellness Industry’s Institute for Human Resource Development.

The Department of Skill Development has assessed the qualifications of each therapist. They were chosen because, in addition to their massage expertise, they were professional and fluent in English.

Reporters attending this week’s APEC meetings at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center will have free access to the spa and Thai massage facilities. Health-focused herbal beverages and massage-related herbal goods will be sold. In an effort to boost sales of Thai exports and bolster Thailand’s “soft power,” the country is making use of these services.
