2022 APEC CEO Summit attended by world leaders

The 2022 APEC CEO Summit brought together political leaders, corporate executives, and entrepreneurs. There are several proposals on facing economic challenges.

The bio-circular-green economic model was highlighted by Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha as part of a national plan and strategy to revitalize the economy in the wake of the recent epidemic.

According to President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China’s written remarks, transparency is essential to making headway and advancing the country’s economy. China would “actively promote the development of an Asia-Pacific community with a common destiny,” as stated by the Chinese government.

To restore public faith, World Economic Forum chairman Klaus Schwab advocated that businesses use stakeholder capital, digitization, strategic thinking, and public-private partnerships.

Vietnam’s President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Peru’s First Vice President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, and Chile’s President Gabriel Boric all plan to discuss climate change. They intend to back green technology and long-term sustainability.

The president of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., called climate change “the most important existential threat of our times.”

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has emphasized “inclusive growth,” which she defines as “not leaving anyone behind,” particularly women, small business owners, and indigenous people.

With the theme “Embrace, Engage, and Enable,” the APEC CEO Summit, held from November 16-18, intends to propel trade, investment, and social and economic challenges in the lead up to the APEC 2022.

Opportunities, connections, and expansion of horizons in the Asia-Pacific area are the main goals.
