Move Forward Party Emerges Victorious in Election, Recording Historic Voter Turnout

On May 15, the Election Commission (EC) announced the highly anticipated results of the recent election, revealing the Move Forward Party (MFP) as the triumphant winner after an intense period of ballot counting. The EC Chairman, Ittiporn Boonpracong, disclosed the outcome, which showcased Pita Limjaroenrat’s Move Forward Party securing a total of 112 constituency seats and an additional 39 party list seats.

Coming in a close second, the Pheu Thai party achieved an impressive count of 112 constituency seats, accompanied by 29 party list seats. Bhumjaithai, another prominent contender, claimed a respectable 68 constituency seats and secured 3 party list seats. Meanwhile, Palang Pracharath managed to secure 39 constituency seats and 1 party list seat. The United Thai Nation Party, though not among the front-runners, obtained a notable 23 constituency seats and an additional 13 party list seats.

In addition to the major parties, several smaller political entities also made their mark in the election. The Democrats secured 22 constituency seats and obtained 3 party list seats, demonstrating their influence. Chartthaipattana, another minor party, managed to secure 9 constituency seats, while Prachachat emerged victorious with 7 constituency seats and 2 party list seats. Other parties such as Thai Sang Chart, Pheu Thai Ruam Palang, Chart Pattana Kla, Seri Ruam Thai, and Thai Sang Thai also achieved notable results, securing a combination of constituency and party list seats.

EC Chairman Ittiporn Boonpracong also highlighted the remarkable level of engagement displayed by the Thai population during this election cycle. Notably, the voter turnout reached an all-time high, with an impressive 75.22% of eligible voters participating in the democratic process. This substantial figure underscores the profound commitment and involvement of the Thai citizenry in shaping the political landscape of the nation.

The results of this election have undoubtedly set the stage for a dynamic period of governance and decision-making in Thailand.
