Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has unveiled Bangkok as a prime location for the regional headquarters of foreign companies, highlighting the city’s economic potential and promising opportunities.
Speaking at the “Bangkok as Regional Headquarters Symposium” held at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center, Chadchart announced that city executives were inviting investors for the first time to discuss establishing regional headquarters in Bangkok. He emphasized the presence of a skilled workforce seeking new career prospects, making Bangkok an attractive labor hub for several industrialized nations, particularly Japan.
The symposium, jointly hosted by the Board of Investment (BOI) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO Bangkok), served as a platform for Japanese investors to explore business prospects and challenges while presenting the policies of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to attract foreign companies.
Chadchart underscored that attracting talent, improving the workforce, and addressing issues such as cleanliness and traffic congestion were high priorities for Bangkok. The governor assured foreign investors of the city’s commitment to facilitating business operations and offering promotional privileges.
Asst Prof Kessara Thanyalakpark, an advisor to Chadchart, emphasized that Bangkok welcomed companies of all sizes and adhered to regulations set by the Board of Investment (BOI) to ensure efficient operations for foreign enterprises. She further highlighted that the city’s relatively low cost of living, compared to other metropolises in the region, made it even more enticing for foreign firms to establish their headquarters.
Governor Chadchart reaffirmed the city’s dedication to improving infrastructure and policies, aiming to create an optimal business environment for investors. He also announced plans to establish One Stop Service centers, streamlining procedures and offering convenience to foreign investors and workers alike.
