Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin is gearing up to lead a mobile cabinet session scheduled in Nong Bua Lam Phu province on December 4th, marking a pivotal moment for the region’s developmental trajectory. The assembly will unfold against the backdrop of proposing 81 ambitious development ventures, collectively valued at approximately 7.4 billion baht. This significant event is part of Srettha’s comprehensive tour spanning the upper Northeast provinces, encompassing Bueng Kan, Loei, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lam Phu, and Udon Thani.
The proposed projects span a diverse spectrum, ranging from infrastructural enhancements, logistical advancements, drug suppression initiatives, poverty alleviation endeavors, to upgrades in agricultural technology. Among the pivotal propositions is the extension of Nong Khai’s special economic development zone to encompass Udon Thani’s industrial estate, a strategic move aimed at consolidating and streamlining business benefits across both regions.
Integral to the agenda are plans to inaugurate a new logistics park in Udon Thani and the establishment of a free zone dedicated to e-commerce. These visionary initiatives carry the promise of revitalizing trade dynamics and stimulating economic activities within the region, fostering growth and opportunities.
In anticipation of this significant convening, the Prime Minister earlier conducted a visit to a newly established drug rehabilitation program situated in Na Klang district. His support for the program’s role in community reintegration underscores the government’s commitment to addressing societal concerns. Concurrently, Deputy Interior Minister Songsak Thongsri engaged with locals in Bueng Kan’s Phon Charoen district, actively soliciting and acknowledging their concerns, slated for deliberation during the imminent cabinet conclave.
