Prime Minister Concerned Over Northern Thailand Wildfires

During his overseas mission, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has voiced deep concern upon receiving reports of wildfires ravaging the northern region of Thailand.

The wildfires have unleashed a range of detrimental effects, from disrupting air and land transportation with thick smoke to exacerbating air pollution levels due to widespread burning, posing significant health risks to the populace.

In response to the crisis, the Prime Minister has issued directives for all civilian and military units to mobilize their resources in combating the wildfires. Stringent measures, including the establishment of robust containment lines, have been mandated to curb the relentless spread of the blazes.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Thavisin has called upon the public to prioritize their well-being amidst the air pollution crisis by remaining indoors, wearing protective masks, and promptly seeking medical assistance if experiencing respiratory distress. The Ministry of Public Health has been tasked with providing comprehensive support services to the affected communities.

Upon his return from an official trip to Europe, scheduled for March 16th at the invitation of the French and German governments, the Prime Minister intends to personally visit the affected regions. During this visit, he will closely monitor the situation on the ground and coordinate with relevant agencies to implement effective solutions to address the wildfire crisis.
