Bangkok Introduces Ratchaprasong Model to Ease Traffic

Bangkok Unveils “Ratchaprasong Model” to Alleviate Traffic Woes

BANGKOK (NNT) – Addressing the perennial issue of traffic congestion in the heart of Bangkok, the city has launched the innovative “Ratchaprasong Model” initiative. Introduced on March 8, the project aims to alleviate traffic jams plaguing Ratchadamri Road.

Led by Prime Minister’s Office Minister Puangpetch Chunla-ead and Prime Minister’s Office Assistant Minister Warawut Yancharoen, the initiative brings together a diverse array of stakeholders, including officials from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Tourist and Royal Thai Police, Bangkok Metropolitan Council, and representatives from various department stores. The collaborative effort seeks to streamline traffic management, enhance security measures, and elevate the overall experience for visitors frequenting the area.

At the heart of the project lies the deployment of an advanced AI system designed to identify vehicles illegally parked in no-parking zones. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, the system swiftly detects and captures images of offending vehicles, prompting legal action if a car remains parked for more than three minutes. Data collected by the AI is seamlessly transmitted to the Central Traffic Police and the Department of Land Transport for the issuance of fines, ensuring swift enforcement of traffic regulations.

Minister Puangpetch emphasized that the “Ratchaprasong Model” epitomizes a broader initiative spearheaded by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin to enhance Bangkok’s tourism appeal through collaborative efforts between government agencies and the private sector. This includes the establishment of more efficient passenger drop-off points and waiting areas, ultimately making Bangkok’s bustling Ratchaprasong district more accessible and welcoming for tourists and locals alike.
