At noon on June 2, 2024, Police Lieutenant Colonel Anand Mahakit Asawakul, Deputy Inspector of Investigation at the Pattaya City Police Station, received a notification regarding the discovery of a deceased individual. The incident occurred in the vicinity opposite Soi 3, Pattaya Beach Road, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Upon receiving the report, authorities, accompanied by Sawang Boriboon Dhamma Sathan Pattaya, promptly initiated an investigation.
At the scene, tourists and onlookers gathered near the beach where the body was found. Examination revealed the deceased to be a white-skinned foreign tourist, identifiable by a flower tattoo on his left arm and a bird tattoo on his right arm.
He was discovered naked, lying face down on the beach, wearing only black shoes and shorts, with one shoe found floating ashore. Initial inspection of the body revealed no signs of physical assault. However, the deceased’s identity and origin remained unknown. Authorities estimated the time of death to be within the past five hours.
Mr. Kotcharin Chuchum, an official from the Pattaya City Special Affairs Department, disclosed that he was inspecting the beach area when notified by a Rom Tiang operator about a tourist found drowning. Upon investigation, it was determined that the tourist had already passed away. Consequently, the scene was secured, and authorities were promptly alerted for further investigation.
Initially, the Sawang Boriboon Foundation in Pattaya will transfer the deceased’s body to Bang Lamung Hospital before forwarding it to the forensic institute for a thorough autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. Meanwhile, law enforcement will conduct inquiries to establish the identity and whereabouts of the deceased and determine his recent accommodations, thus facilitating subsequent legal proceedings
