Thailand faced a disappointing setback on Sunday in the Volleyball Nations League as they were defeated by Germany in a 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-21, 25-20) during Pool 5 action held in Hong Kong.
Leading the scoring for the Thai team was hitter Chatchu-On Moksri, contributing 13 points, followed by Wimonrat Thanapan with six points.
This defeat marked Thailand’s third loss in the preliminary round in Hong Kong, having previously been defeated by Turkey and Poland before facing Germany.
Looking ahead, Thailand is preparing to host the VNL Finals in Bangkok, scheduled from Thursday to Sunday. They will compete against the top seven teams from the preliminary phase.
Following their recent performance, Thailand dropped to 14th place in the world rankings, while Germany maintains the 12th spot.
