On June 26, 2024, Tourist Police at Suvarnabhumi Airport apprehended two women suspected of drugging and robbing a German tourist. The suspects, identified as Kritsana, 35, and Suthasinee, 36, were arrested at their residence in Bang Bon, Bangkok, following an arrest warrant issued by the Ratchada Criminal Court.
The investigation was led by the Tourist Police Division 3 and Tourist Police Bureau at Suvarnabhumi Airport. A search of the suspects’ room revealed 132 methamphetamine pills, 3.74 grams of crystal meth, and 14 tablets of Alprazolam, a Schedule II substance often used as a date rape drug. The evidence was sent to the investigating officers at Hua Mak Police Station.

Police Colonel Pongpichet Nilchan, Superintendent of Division 3, Tourist Police 1, detailed that the case began when a German tourist reported being drugged and robbed. He filed his complaint with the Tourist Police at Suvarnabhumi Airport before departing Thailand. The victim reported that he was drugged and robbed of cash, credit cards, and a camera by a transgender woman and her female friend near an entertainment venue in the Sukhumvit area. Initially, he reported the incident to Hua Mak Police Station, but no progress was made.
Tourist Police investigators discovered crucial evidence from CCTV footage at the victim’s condominium, which showed the suspects following him into his room. The investigators traced the suspects’ whereabouts and matched the Alprazolam found in the German tourist’s system with the drugs found in the suspects’ possession. This evidence enabled them to secure an arrest warrant from the Criminal Court.

During questioning, both suspects admitted to meeting the victim near the Sukhumvit entertainment venue. They befriended him and followed him to his room, where they secretly mixed the drug into his drink, causing him to pass out. They then robbed him and used the stolen cash for partying and purchasing drugs. Some stolen items were sold or discarded.
The German tourist expressed his gratitude to the Tourist Police for their efforts in apprehending the suspects and resolving the case.
