Thailand Tourism Festival 2025 Showcases Culture and Sustainability

The Thailand Tourism Festival (TTF) 2025 will take place from March 26 to 30 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, offering visitors a wide-ranging showcase of the country’s cultural heritage, regional diversity, and sustainable travel initiatives. Organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the event aims to promote domestic tourism by highlighting unique local experiences and responsible travel.

This year’s theme, “5 Must-Do in Thailand,” will be brought to life through themed zones representing Thailand’s main regions: North, South, Central, East, and Northeast (Isan). Each zone will offer an immersive experience into local traditions, crafts, food, and landscapes, reflecting the varied identity of each area.

The Northern Village will feature Lanna culture, with references to landmarks such as Chiang Mai’s Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and Tak’s Blue Cave. Visitors will be introduced to local crafts like handwoven textiles and silverware, alongside northern Thai cuisine including Khao Soi and Sai Ua sausage.

In the Southern Village, cultural and ecological displays will include traditional fabrics from Pattani and marine conservation efforts such as pink dolphin preservation in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Dishes like Betong chicken rice and Surat Thani oysters will highlight regional flavors.

The Central Village will focus on heritage tourism, including a vintage train station exhibit celebrating Thailand’s railway past. Traditional dishes like Khao Chae and Bangkok-style street food will be available.

Eastern Thailand’s zone will emphasize eco-tourism, with displays on butterfly habitats in Pang Sida National Park and fishing practices from coastal provinces like Trat and Rayong. The area will also feature regional folklore and local delicacies such as durian-based sweets and fresh seafood.

The Isan Village will present spiritual and cultural customs, including the Phi Ta Khon festival. Regional cuisine will feature fermented fish dishes, spicy papaya salad, and grilled meats. Craft demonstrations will include weaving sticky rice baskets, a signature Isan tradition.

A Sustainable Tourism Zone will draw attention to environmental responsibility with installations such as a life-sized Bryde’s whale made from recycled plastic, promoting ocean conservation and awareness of waste reduction.

The festival’s entertainment lineup includes both traditional and modern Thai performances. Highlights include the Khon masked dance-drama, Lanna and Isan dances, the Nora acrobatic dance, and Nang Talung shadow puppetry. Music performances will span from folk to contemporary genres, including a fusion show with saxophonist Koh Mr. Saxman performing with a traditional Thai orchestra.

Workshops and street events will invite public participation in Thai drumming, boxing, and reenactments of national legends. The event will close with a light and sound show featuring digital projections and dance.

TTF 2025 is expected to draw thousands of local and international visitors. The opening ceremony and major performances will be attended by tourism officials, cultural performers, and other invited guests.
