Thailand launches new campaign to attract remote professionals

The Tourism Authority of Thailand, in partnership with Fastwork Technologies, launched the third season of its “Workation Paradise” campaign on July 9, 2025, offering targeted travel benefits to digital nomads, freelancers, and long-stay visitors as part of a broader push to position Thailand as a premier global remote work destination.

In a bid to enhance its appeal to the growing demographic of mobile professionals, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has partnered with digital work platform Fastwork to launch Workation Paradise Throughout Thailand Season 3. The campaign, introduced on July 9, 2025, aims to attract digital nomads, freelancers, and expatriates with exclusive travel deals and lifestyle promotions while supporting regional economies and extending tourist stays.

The initiative is part of the broader Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025, a national effort designed to draw 39 million international visitors and generate over 3 trillion baht in tourism revenue. The campaign reflects TAT’s commitment to capitalising on the global rise of the “workation” trend, where individuals combine professional responsibilities with extended travel.

As part of the third season rollout, over 200 businesses are participating in offering exclusive discounts on accommodations, dining, and co-working spaces. Notable brands include Sri Panwa, Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, Hyatt Regency Hua Hin, The Zign Pattaya, and Aana Resort and Spa Koh Chang. Other participating establishments range from boutique hotels like Home Phutoey River Kwai Resort to attractions such as Vana Nava Water Jungle and lifestyle outlets including Bar B Q Plaza and Oasis Spa.

Two core promotions anchor the campaign. The Team Travel Workation – Powered by TAT activity encourages participants to visit partner businesses and redeem curated perks, with the opportunity to win group travel packages and prizes. Meanwhile, the 100 Baht to Work and Travel campaign, hosted via Fastwork’s platform, offers travel and lifestyle vouchers valued at significantly more than the 100 baht purchase price. This promotion will run in two rounds, opening on July 25 and August 25, 2025.

The program not only aims to promote tourism but also to strengthen local economies by distributing visitor spending across diverse regions and communities. It further aligns with TAT’s goals of cultural preservation and long-term economic sustainability through cross-regional travel and longer stays.

According to TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the third season builds on previous successes and deepens engagement with high-value travelers. The collaboration with Fastwork, she noted, brings a strategic focus on reaching mobile professionals with tailored activities that match their flexible lifestyles.

Fastwork CEO CK Cheong said the partnership underscores a broader shift in the nature of work. “The workation model represents a new standard for work-life integration, offering freedom and flexibility while also supporting local tourism economies,” Cheong said. He emphasized the platform’s role in enabling individuals to redefine their working lives while contributing to regional development.
