Thailand Tourism Festival 2024: Culture, Innovation, Sustainability Showcase

Thailand Tourism Festival 2024: A Showcase of Culture, Innovation, and Sustainability

Bangkok, March 13, 2024 – The 42nd Thailand Tourism Festival is set to captivate visitors from March 28th to April 1st, 2024, at the prestigious Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) in Bangkok. Organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), this annual event promises to immerse attendees in the rich tapestry of Thailand’s cultural heritage while highlighting the country’s commitment to sustainability.

Under the theme of soft power and subculture, the Thailand Tourism Festival 2024 aims to showcase the diverse tourism offerings from all corners of the nation. This year’s edition marks the second installment of the ‘Zero Waste to Landfills’ initiative, aligning with the global push towards sustainable tourism practices. Anticipating a turnout of 150,000 visitors and a digital reach of 20 million, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, emphasized the event’s focus on promoting year-round travel through digital transformation and strategic partnerships.

Sustainability takes center stage at the festival, with TAT spearheading efforts to minimize environmental impact. Collaborating with partners such as QSNCC, PTT Global Chemical, Cirplas, and N15 Technology, the initiative aims to manage waste responsibly. Last year’s endeavor successfully diverted over 12,000 kilograms of waste from landfills, significantly reducing carbon emissions.

Spanning five regions of Thailand, the festival will feature nine distinct zones, each offering a unique glimpse into the country’s cultural and natural wonders. From the Amazing Thailand Zone, showcasing innovative technologies and virtual travel experiences, to the Sustainable Tourism Goals (STGs) Zone, advocating responsible tourism practices, visitors can expect a myriad of immersive activities.

Attendees can indulge in culinary delights, witness traditional performances, and engage in interactive workshops at themed villages representing Eastern, Central, Northern, Northeastern, and Southern Thailand. The event will also host a marketplace where TAT’s partners will showcase tourism stories and offer exclusive deals on products and services.

Highlighting the main stage will be cultural performances, beauty pageants, fashion shows, and live music by renowned Thai artists, promising entertainment for all. Moreover, the festival encourages eco-friendly transportation options, urging visitors to utilize public transit or designated bus routes.

In attendance at the press conference were key figures including Mr. Somchai Chompoonoi, Mr. Akkarawit Taphasit, Miss Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai, Miss Wajanan Silpawornwiwat, and Mr. Auttaphol Wannakij, TAT Executive Directors, reaffirming the collaborative effort behind this grand celebration of Thai tourism.

With its blend of tradition, innovation, and sustainability, the Thailand Tourism Festival 2024 invites visitors to embark on a journey of discovery and appreciation for the kingdom’s rich cultural heritage.
