Authorities want to release additional water from the Chao Phraya Dam, at a rate of up to 1,800 cubic meters per second, to relieve pressure from water that has accumulated further upstream as a result of severe rainfall.
The volume of water pouring into the Chao Phraya Dam, Sappaya District, Chainat Province, was discovered to be 1,508 cubic meters per second, and it is increasing steadily. The water level above the most recent Chao Phraya Dam was 16.31 meters above mean sea level. According to the report, the Chao Phraya Dam in Chainat Province has boosted its drainage rate to 1,500 cubic meters per second, causing the water level at the dam’s terminal to rise. The water has climbed 20 centimeters in the last 24 hours, reaching 12.66 meters above mean sea level.
The Royal Irrigation Department intends to increase drainage to meet the northern water mass, which will rise to a threshold of 1,800 cubic meters per second due to severe rain from August 20-25. As a result, the area from Sappaya district, Chainat province, down to the province would be affected.
