The water crisis has been widespread across the country. Tomorrow, the prime minister will travel to Khon Kaen and Ubon Ratchathani provinces to assess local reaction and mitigation measures.
National Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha met with provincial governors and representatives from institutions in charge of dealing with the water crisis. During the video conference, Gen. Prayut extended his sympathy for everyone affected by floods. He stated that he was not doing nothing about the water crisis and that the administration had made arrangements to assist flood victims.
The prime minister highlighted that all workers in flooded regions must collaborate. He also thanked other agencies for contributing data to the shared pool, which will help with water management in the future. General Prayut was alluding to a chilly airmass projected to enter Thailand from China. He stated that the information presented during the meeting will enable the administration to adopt both main and secondary measures to address the water crisis.
Gen. Prayut will visit Khon Kaen province tomorrow (4 October) to assess the water condition and the operation of high-pressure water pumps. He will next proceed to Ubon Ratchathani to visit a flood relief center and assess homes devastated by storms and floods. During this tour, the premier will also meet with the appropriate organizations to discuss water management and check on the progress of repairing local businesses.
