Today, Their Majesties will be welcomed by the public at King Rama IX Memorial Park

Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand will be making a public appearance at King Rama IX Memorial Park today, where the Thai people will get a chance to greet them (13 October). A statue of King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great will be unveiled by their Majesties in the park in the Dusit district of Bangkok.

On Thursday, October 13, at 5 o’clock, there will be a public reception for their Majesties at King Rama IX Memorial Park. The government is making it easy for visitors to visit the park by offering many different modes of transportation.

Free buses will operate on four routes around Bangkok, thanks to the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA). After passing an ATK screening, visitors can enter the park through the buses. Starting from the Army Club and ending at the Victory Monument, and starting  at Suphachalai Stadium going to the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, respectively, are the first two routes. The Wongwian Yai-Rajavinit Mathayom School and the Sanam Luang-Rajavinit Mathayom School paths are routes number three and four.

The park shuttles run daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Transportation back to the starting point will be provided until 6:00 p.m., or until all eventgoers have departed the area. Every 20 minutes, there will be a bus departure.

Visitors using their own automobiles can park in one of three lots near the event and take a free shuttle to the park. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Suphachalasai Stadium, and the Army Club are the three locations.

Ferry transportation between three piers on the Chao Phraya River will be provided by the Marine Department for the event’s attendees. Tha Chang Pier, Wat Rakhang Pier, and Wat Arun Pier are the docking options. Between the hours of 6 AM and 8 PM (or whenever the lines thin down), ferries will depart every 15 minutes.

The department would also provide four shuttle journeys between Nonthaburi pier and Tha Chang pier using electric boats. Ferries will leave from Nonthaburi Pier between 8 and 9 a.m. Return sailings depart from Tha Chang pier between 6 and 6.30 p.m. The ferries are free for anybody to use.

Anyone planning on attending the event must do so in possession of a valid government-issued photo ID or passport. Luggage and temperature measurements will be checked. Families should inquire about receiving name tags for their children. The parent’s contact information (name, address, and phone number) should be included on the tag. Sharp items are not permitted in your possession.

After passing the ATK test, visitors entering the park will be transported in a separate fleet of shuttles. In contrast, visitors who have taken the ATK exam at Rajavinit Mathayom School are free to enter the park on foot.
