Flooded Nonthaburi villages visited by PM

The province of Nonthaburi was recently struck hard by flooding, and the Prime Minister paid a visit to the affected areas today. In an effort to aid as many people as possible, he requested that all organizations assist with water removal as soon as possible.

Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, the Prime Minister, accompanied by a delegation of Cabinet members and other officials visited the Wat Saeng Siri Tham temple in the Tha It sub-district. Submersion of this town has continued for weeks.

Gen Anupong Paochinda, Minister of the Interior; Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, Minister of Digital Economy and Society; and Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Justice, accompanied the Prime Minister.

Specifically, the Prime Minister has ordered all relevant authorities to coordinate their efforts to aid the affected people, with a focus on the children, the elderly, and the sick who have emergency care needs.

As local authorities work to reduce flood damage by increasing water drainage, the federal government stands ready to lend a hand.

Gen. Prayut said that rising sea levels and floodwaters from the north are to blame for flooding along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok and the surrounding provinces.

Communities were urged to adapt their ways of life to the shifting weather dynamics and the government assured them it would do its utmost to manage water supplies and availability.
