This year’s celebration of the National Day of Persons with Disabilities will take place on Saturday, November 19th, during an event that will be hosted in Bangkok. At this event, members of the general public are encouraged to show their support for individuals with disabilities by purchasing symbolic Kaew Galya flowers and other handicrafts that were created by handicapped people.
The 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, often known as the Queen Mother, will be celebrated with an event whose subject will be an expression of gratitude for individuals who are living with a disability.
His Majesty the King has kindly gifted a meal for individuals with impairments and the general public participating in this occasion.
Pol Lt Manas Monuch, chairman of the organizing team, disclosed that the event would comprise many activities from participating government organizations and commercial enterprises to illustrate the potential of persons with disabilities.
The event will also include a career fair, occupational workshops, a one-stop shop for government services, an exhibition on advancements in disability prevention and rehabilitation, showcases on the talents and capacities of the disabled, and an exhibition on disabled people’s skills and capabilities.
In addition, there will be a bazaar where persons with disabilities may sell their products, as well as musical performances by the official bands of the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the Royal Thai Police.
In order to properly commemorate the event, members of the general public are encouraged to go out and purchase flowers bearing the Kaew Galya sign. Proceeds from the sales will go to the Kaew Galya Flower Foundation, which promotes the occupational development of individuals with disabilities nationally.
