The APEC University Leaders’ Forum 2022 is being co-organized by Chulalongkorn University and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU). The goal of the seminar is to facilitate the development of a worldwide plan for the prevention of the next pandemic.
Today, Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the opening ceremony of the APRU’s APEC University Leaders’ Forum 2022 and made a speech on the topic of “Preventing the Next Pandemic – The Global Partnership Agenda: Governments, Business, and Research Universities.”
The Prime Minister stated that the epidemic has had an effect on all areas of the world during the course of the previous two years. Many viewpoints shifted, particularly in regard to matters concerning health. As the country that will host APEC 2022, Thailand is worried about this difficulty. The country has high expectations that APEC-related gatherings, such as this conference, would contribute to Thailand’s success in being prepared for the challenges that will be faced by all of the APEC economies.
The Prime Minister is delighted to welcome guests from all economies to Thailand and expresses his hope that APEC 2022 would serve as a significant turning point toward increased collaboration and prosperity around the world.
The APEC University Leaders’ Forum is hosted by APRU and serves as a platform upon which chief executive officers of leading companies across a variety of industries, policymakers from 19 economic zones, and presidents of 20 universities from around the world present their ideas for preventing and addressing impending challenges.
The theme of “Preventing the Next Pandemic a Global Strategy” will be the primary focus of the gathering. In order to be better prepared for the next global issues, all of the relevant stakeholders came together to share their insights, experiences, research findings, and projects.
The APEC University Leaders’ Forum 2022 is being held in conjunction with the APEC CEO Summit, which is being hosted by Thailand.
In addition, the discussion will center on three primary topics: “Partnering on Biomedical Research,” “Partnering on Effective Socio-Cultural Strategies,” and “Partnering on Combating the Infodemic.”
