These measures include a thorough screening process for foreign nationals arriving from regions deemed high-risk.
Under the direct leadership of RTP Commissioner-General Police General Torsak Sukwimol, a comprehensive surveillance initiative has been launched, covering pivotal locations, residential areas, and other relevant regions. This proactive approach underscores the commitment of the Thai authorities to maintaining the safety and security of the nation.
In order to effectively execute these measures, the RTP is collaborating closely with various law enforcement entities, including local police units, the Patrol Police, officers who respond to the 191 hotline, the Crime Suppression Division, Peacekeeping Police, Tourist Police, and Immigration Police. This concerted effort is aimed at scrutinizing vulnerable points, identifying potential risks, and formulating contingency and emergency plans, which may include drills to ensure a state of preparedness.
The Tourist Police, in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, are intensifying their screening efforts to guarantee the safety of tourists within the country. Concurrently, the Immigration Bureau has been tasked with strengthening the inspection process for incoming travelers, with a particular focus on those arriving from countries categorized as high-risk.
In an effort to engage the public in the process of safeguarding the nation, citizens are strongly encouraged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities or information they may come across. This can be done by contacting the dedicated hotlines 191 and 1599, which are operational 24/7.
