In response to the distress call, Mr. Dechathorn Chanob, the Mayor of Koh Kood Subdistrict Administrative Organization, led a rescue operation involving three speedboats and a commercial fishing vessel. The coordinates 3532 were targeted following a notification requesting assistance. However, upon reaching the designated location, neither the distressed boat nor its passengers and crew were located.
Undeterred, the rescue team expanded their search along potential current trajectories. A breakthrough occurred at 17:15 when the team spotted the tourists and crew members floating in the middle of the sea, holding onto a lifeboat. The prompt discovery allowed for immediate assistance and ensured the safety of everyone involved.
Upon initial examination, it was identified that one woman from the group was part of the distress situation. Among the rescued, one individual exhibited signs of fatigue due to hunger, necessitating transport to Koh Kood Hospital for a thorough check of their condition. The precautionary measure aimed to address potential health issues arising from the ingestion of seawater, ensuring the well-being of those affected by the maritime incident.
